Following water shortage within the hydrometric dams and maintenance overdue, the Ethiopian government reintroduced the latest round of power rationing measures that rotates every two shifts during the course of a day. It has already been a couple of weeks since it has started and it has taken tolls in the capital, Addis Ababa. Including the shift, the city has been experiencing power blackouts. Recent reports are showing promising developments for sustainable power supply to the city.
