Dr. Aregawi Berhe, one of the founders of Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) and current chairman of Tigray Democratic Coalition Party (TAND), has been in exile for almost thirty years after a fallout with TPLF. He returned to Ethiopia along with Gidey Zeratsion in response to Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed’s call for reconciliation with opposition parties. Ever since his return, he has visited different parts of Ethiopia to discuss with communities on peace issues. He had said that his main priority was rebuilding his political image and maintain relevance in the dynamic Ethiopian political landscape.
