EPRDF Council’s meeting concludes; releases statement

Ethiopian People’s Revolutionary Democratic Front (EPRDF) held an official meeting from April 15 to April 17, 2019. The ruling coalition party discussed on many core issues that have become of the utmost importance to the party and Ethiopia. Despite PM Abiy’s promise, the party conducted the meeting behind closed doors. After the meeting was concluded, the party released an official statement today. The statement entails the party’s stand on the current political environment, security and safety concerns, economic status and foreign currency shortage, the rising internal displacement, and social media usage and hate-speech in Ethiopia. The party also addressed matters considered an obstacle for the reform to succeed and future plans of unity among the parties in EPRDF.
