Former Oromo Liberation Front (OLF) fighters are currently on a hunger strike to protest against poor living conditions in government rehabilitation camps.
The rebels, who dropped their arms and opted for the government rehabilitation program, are unhappy about bad food and sanitation at the camps. There are about 1000, OLF soldiers living in the Tolay camp, located in south-western Ethiopia.
“We are treated inhumanely and no one cares about us, most of the comrades are ill due to lack of hygiene and absence of food,” an OLF fighter told BBC Afaan Oromoo Service.
