Ethiopian politics substantially changed in 2018 especially after Dr. Abiy Ahmed inauguration on April 2, 2018. Dr. Abiy Ahmed preached for national reconciliation and forgiveness to move on to the next chapter of Ethiopia. He did a nationwide tour outreaching to all communities. Many structural and legal framework changes took place in major institutions. The new political environment opened the gateway for political diversity in Ethiopia to build the democratic system. However, the uncensored invitation opened the gates to ethnic politics that is endangering Ethiopia’s unity. Many radical ethnic-based parties are forming in Ethiopia. This radical change raised suspicions as it opposes everything the reform stood for.
