Ethiopian politics has changed in recent times following the reform. The political reform started after current prime minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed came to power. When it began, the reform focused on a path that could unite the country for better. However, the entire political environment changed into an outright ethnic radicalism. Despite being a chartered city, Addis Ababa is affected by the current ethnic-based politics as a result of the ownership claims.
