Ethiopia and France signed a military cooperation agreement on Tuesday. The accord between both countries is the first in history.
The military agreement stipulates that France will help the landlocked country to build a navy.
Ethiopia and France signed the agreement during President Emmanuel Macron’s visit to Addis Ababa. The French leader is on a four-day visit to the Horn of Africa region. France is looking to work with countries in the region, and President Macron hopes to change his country’s colonial legacy.
