Ethiopia signs deal with Chinese, Kenyan firm to build 70 MW geothermal plant


The Ethiopian Electric Power (EEP) signed an agreement on Monday with two Chinese companies and a Kenyan firm to build a 70MW geothermal energy project.

The Chinese firms are Shandong Kerui Oilfield Service Group and Shandong Kerui Oilfield Service Group. The Kenyan firm is Kenya Electricity Generating Company.

The EEP announced in a press statement that the companies will supply the drilling materials for the project.
