The US Embassy in Ethiopia is organizing a hacking competition at the American Center in Addis Ababa. The theme of the hackathon is ‘digital identification.’
The competition is one of 12 under a US Embassy program called ‘Ethiopia Hacks.’
Participants in the hackathon would reportedly learn how to register and correctly identify internally displaced people. The participants will be taught how to do this while protecting the privacy of the individuals involved.
The US Embassy hopes to provide encouragement to young tech-savvy Ethiopians through ‘Ethiopia Hacks.’
