Funeral service held for Colonel Tadesse Muluneh

Colonel Tadesse Muluneh served as a fighter jet pilot during Derg administration. He was reportedly awarded medal for bravery during the war with Somalia in the late ’70s. After his exile to Eritrea, he founded and led Ethiopian People’s Patriotic Front(EPPF). The Eritrean government arrested him for eight years for reasons still unknown. He recently returned to Ethiopia after PM Abiy Ahmed announced an amnesty for individuals deemed as terrorists in the previous administration.

He was receiving treatments in India. the decorated hero was laid to rest in his hometown Merawi at St. Mary Church yesterday
