Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed visits the newly formed Republican Guard. It replaces Agazi Army’s functions that are related to protecting government officials.

Members of the Ethiopian Republican Guard, who have been under training for the past six months, displayed their skills in front of Prime Minister Abit Ahmed on Sunday.
Brigadier General Birhanu Bekele, head of the republican guard, said the purpose of the exhibition is to show that the country’s leaders are protected and deter anyone from launching attacks on them.
