German automaker Volkswagen is considering a component assembly plant in Ethiopia. VW spokesperson Andile Dlamini said earlier this month the company was exploring expansion into Ethiopia “and component assembly is the initial business we are looking at. Vehicle assembly is also under consideration in the long term.”
Deutsche Telekom also plans to invest in Ethiopia, which is becoming more and more attractive to investors. Nearly 3 months ago, the country made the historic announcement of a partial opening of its economy.
