The Federal High Court ruled additional 7 days for investigation on Fitsum Yeshitla

It is remembered that the state-owned Metal and Engineering Corporation's corruption scandal has been the talk of the town after a documentary on the company’s mismanagement and wrongdoings were aired on the ruling party-affiliated media EBC last month. Following that senior military figures, high-level intelligence personnel and their associates have been detained and were brought to court. One of the suspects was Fitsum Yeshitla, a former EBC journalist. Last month she appeared in court after being charged with having affiliations with the former head of METEC Major General Kinfe and embezzling public money which is more than half a million Ethiopian birr. She allegedly shared the money with Zinahbizu Tsegaye, an artist who used to work in the entertainment industry. On a trial that was held yesterday, The Federal High Court the court granted seven more days for the police to further investigate the journalist.
