It is to be recalled that following prime minister Abiy Ahmed's appointment and his reform agenda, opposition party members who were in exile for years came back to Ethiopia accepting his invitation for a peaceful political arena. One of them is Doctor Aregawi Berhe, founder and first chairman of Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF). After being expelled from the party in 1985 he moved abroad and formed his own party, Tigray Democratic Coalition Party (TAND). After his return, Doctor Aregawi has been participating in the fast-changing Ethiopian political landscape. In an interview with Abebe Belew of Addis Dimts, Dr. Aregawi Berhe discussed the issue of federalism. The discussion also included the Legetafo house demolition and Ermias Amelga's court case. It is known that the Legetafo Legedadi city administration has demolished thousands of houses which were deemed as illegally built within this week.
