Refugees fleeing violence in Ethiopia head to Sudan


The number of Ethiopian refugees in Sudan has increased due to the ongoing conflict in parts of the country. About 1,500 Ethiopian refugees are currently seeking asylum at Al-Shuruq in Sudan’s capital Khartoum.

People from Ethiopia, especially from the Amhara region, have reportedly been fleeing conflict and severe humanitarian conditions. There has been ongoing fighting between the Tigray and Amhara ethnic group since November last year.
