በተባበሩት መንግሥታት የአሜሪካ ዕጩ አምባሳደር ሊንዳ ቶማስ ግሪንፊልድ በኢትዮጵያ ትግራይ ክልል ያለው ሁኔታ እንደሚያሳስባቸው ሹመታቸውን ለማጽደቅ ለተሰየመው የላይኛው ምክር ቤት ተናግረዋል፡፡ የኢትዮጵ መንግሥት ከገዛ ሕዝቡ ጋር ጦርነት ገጥሟል- ብለዋል ግሪንፊልድ፡፡ የተባበሩት መንግሥታት ድርጅት ለዚህ ሁኔታ ምን ምላሽ መስጠት እንዳለበት እንዲያሰላስልም መክረዋል፡፡ በክልሉ የሰብዓዊ ሁኔታው እንዳሽቆለቀለ የገለጹት አምባሳደሯ፣ ተመድ ከመንግሥት ጋር ግልጽ ንግግር ማድረግ እንደሚያስፈልገው አውስተዋል፡፡
