Today, it was reported that the National Movement of Amhara(NAMA) and Amhara Democratic Party (ADP) executive members met in Addis Ababa. The executives sat down to negotiate on terms for critical issues. It is known that both parties were on edge due to the recent conflicts in the region. The National Movement of Amhara (NAMA) is a pro-Amhara ethnic nationalist movement that was founded in 2018 with a goal to represent the people of the Amhara ethnic group. It was established amidst the wave of opposition that rocked Ethiopia two years ago. The Amhara Democratic Party (ADP) which was formerly known as Amhara National Democratic Movement is leading the Amhara region and is a member of the EPRDF, a coalition party that has been in power for the past 27 years.
