Human rights abusers cannot hide behind their ethnic group - PM Abiy Ahmed

On yesterday's meeting with representatives of opposition parties, the Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed talked about the recent action against wide-ranging attack on alleged corruption and human rights violations. It was reported that some 36 of the country's intelligence service officers have also been arrested on charges of human rights violations, including murder, rape, and castration and 27 employees of the state-owned military-industrial company, Metals and Engineering Corporation, known as Metec have been detained. Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed said that the domination of Ethiopia's military, key economic assets and ruling coalition by one ethnic group should come to an end, and the division of power should be diverse. He also added that human rights abusers cannot hide behind their ethnic group.
