NAMA responds to Menigstu Zegeye’s accusation

In a report that was published by Mereja TV on Saturday, it was reported that activist Mengistu Zegeye accused the National Movement of Amhara (NAMA) members of beating him up. In his interview with Mereja TV, Ato Mengistu said that he was assaulted by NAMA members in Dessie. Mereja TV wasn’t able to contact any NAMA officials at the time. However, we managed to have a phone interview with NAMA’s public relations director Ato Christian Tadele today. According to Ato Christian, the party has no knowledge of the alleged attack and the accusations made by Ato Mengistu are false. The National Movement of Amhara (NAMA) is a pro-Amhara ethnic nationalist movement that was founded in 2018 with a goal to represent the people of the Amhara ethnic group.
