It looks like General Kinfe Dagnew’s list of woes keeps growing. Police has filed additional charges against the general who has already been charged with multi-billion dollar corruption crime. According to the police filing, the general made an 8 Million EUR purchase agreement in 2003 to buy diesel from a German Company without a proper bidding. The actual purchase was however made for 4,800,000 EUR. In addition, the police have also gathered evidence about the collaboration between METEC and the Equatorial Business Group (EBG) in the acquisition of cars totalling 22 Million ETB. Police also filed charges for more than two billion birr (2,012,303,130 ETB) said to be taken by METEC in the name of forest deforestation for the great renaissance dam with Ethiopian Electric Corporation.
