Appointed after the surprise resignation of former Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn, Doctor Abiy Ahmed inherited a country in chaos when he was sworn in this April. The new Prime Minister has inspired a rare, renewed sense of national hope in Ethiopians around the world. Ethiopian prime minister Abiy Ahmed has overseen drastic changes that have reshaped the nation’s socio-economic and political trajectory. The changes are nothing short of seismic, proof that nothing remains the same forever. In just over 100 days, the prime minister has taken radical steps aimed at dismantling the country’s troubled past and paving the way for a new future. It is remembered that The Tigrayan People’s Liberation Front (TPLF), has been the organizer and leader of the Ethiopian Peoples’ Revolutionary Democratic Front (EPRDF), and has dominated Ethiopian politics Since the fall of the Derg in 1991. There is an ongoing speculation that TPLF is not happy with the prime minister's reforms. In an interview with Tigray TV, Ato Asmelash Woldeselassie, a senior leader of TPLF and member of The house of peoples' representatives denied the allegations and said that his party TPLF not only supports the reform but also is the vanguard behind it.
