PM Abiy Ahmed’s public meeting in Aksum, northern Ethiopia

On Monday, June 10, 2019, PM Abiy Ahmed along with his delegation team visited the historical town Aksum in Tigray Region. He received a warm welcome at Aksum Airport  Before his arrival, Aksum town has been tension following the unrest in Aksum University. During his visit, Prime Minister Abiy held a discussion with the resident on different issues including infrastructure construction, budget allocations, water supply, peace, and security. He also discussed the rehabilitation of the obelisks of Axum which have been major attractions for tourism and one of the historical sites recognized by UNESCO.
