American food giant Yum! Branads, Inc. opens its first Pizza Hut restaurant in Ethiopia’s capital Addis Ababa.
The opening event was attended by U.S. Ambassador to Ethiopia, Michael Raynor, Yum! Brands representatives, government officials, and special guests.
Belayab Foods & Production PLC, the franchisee of Pizza Hut in Ethiopia, is planning to open a second location in the Bole Medhanialem neighborhood on Saturday, April 14th, according to Addis Standard.
“We’re very excited for this milestone event,” said Belayab Foods CEO and shareholder Michael Ghebru. “While there are a few regional franchise restaurants in Ethiopia, Pizza Hut is the first global international restaurant franchise to enter the Ethiopian market,” he added.
