Following the latest reform lead by the Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and his promise to open a political arena dominated by the ruling party, the Prime Minister has met members of 81 opposition parties on Tuesday of opposition parties to discuss ways of reforming the country's electoral system. It is known that the ruling EPRDF coalition has been in power since 1991. The coalition and its affiliated parties currently hold all the seats in parliament. According to the official Twitter account of the meeting focused on highlighting the reforms required to ensure the upcoming election is free & fair, and the shared responsibilities of all. Representatives of Ethiopian opposition parties shared their opinions about the meeting on the state-owned media ETV.
