It was reported that twenty people have been killed and more than eighteen are wounded in a sudden attack by soldiers from the national defense force in Western Gujii zone. According to residents the soldiers also robbed houses in the area. Following the attack, residents in Dugda and Gelana woreda have left their homes fearing for their lives. Officials of the Dugda and Gelana woreda said that the reason behind the attack is not clear yet and an investigation team has been assigned to look into the incident. The unrest in West Oromia has been escalating lately following the controversy between the Oromo Liberation Front (OLF) and the government about the opposition party not disarming. It is known that the Oromo Liberation Front (OLF) and other opposition parties in exile came back to Ethiopia after Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed invited them to return home and participate in politics in a peaceful way.
