Ethiopian opposition parties discuss newly proposed election law

It is to be recalled that following the latest reform lead by the Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and his promise to open a political arena dominated by the ruling party, he invited exiled opposition parties to be the country. In a meeting, the prime minister held with members of 81 opposition parties he discussed ways of reforming the country's electoral system. As part of the reforms Birtukan Mideksa, a former federal judge who joined active politics, and has played key roles in several opposition parties has been appointed to chair the National Election Board of Ethiopia. In this video Merera Gudina, leader of the Oromo People's Congress (OPC), Ephrem Madebo, Director of the political sector of Patriot Ginbot 7, and Solomon Goshu, Law lecturer in Addis Ababa University discuss the newly proposed election law and its effects on the coming 2020 election.
