The Saudi billionaire had been in detention for the past year under the kingdom's anti-corruption campaign. Ethiopia’s Office of the Prime Minister confirmed the news of his release, which has been lobbying for his release since Abiy Ahmed became Prime Minister. Sheikh Mohammed Al-Amoudi, born in Ethiopia from a Saudi father and an Ethiopian mother owns business ventures in many sectors under his business group MIDROC Investment Group.
