Ethiopian census counts to start next February after delays

The Ethiopian Population census which collects data on the size, distribution and, composition of population and information on a broad range of social and economic characteristics of the population will be starting next February. Sources told Reporter Newspaper that the preparation of the fourth census is already underway. The Central Statistical Agency of Ethiopia stated that the fourth population census was supposed to be done in November last year. But, due to the ethnic violence that is erupting all over the country, especially in the Somali and Oromia region which forced millions to flee their homes, the census was postponed to this year. It is said that the population census will be held on February 11, 2018.
