Ethiopian engineers who developed smartphone app that remotely controls cars

Mereja TV's Biruk Yibeltal interviewed the young Ethiopian engineers who developed a smartphone application that remotely controls cars. Mikias Getachew, Nahom Kidanemaryam and Melaku Habtu, who are graduates of Addis Ababa University founded Ethio Automation and Bina Addis Consultancy. Ethio Automation is a website application that lets the user control their cars remotely from their phones. The user can open and close doors, turn on the engine, access camera security control of the car, and regulate temperature using the application. According to the innovators the application can be used on any computer or phone. But the application is not on sale yet. Nahom, who is one of the innovators said that the application is not on the market yet because the hardware necessary for the app are exported from abroad and they are waiting for its arrival. They also added that they have already started registering users.
