Tigray protests in pictures

This weekend in Mekele, the capital city of Tigray region located in the northern part of Ethiopia, a huge rally was held. Demonstrators were demanding for the constitution to be respected and ethnic-based violence to stop. Some also expressed their gratitude for the neighboring country Sudan for taking care of people with Tigre ethnic background who fled from an ethnic-based violence in the Amhara region. Many senior officials of the ruling party of the Tigray region TPLF were present including the chairman Debretsion Gebremichael. The chairman addressed the crowd gathered at Mekelle Stadium. In his speech, he stated that the People of Tigray contributed its part to rescue Ethiopia that was disintegrating and make it democratic ruled by a constitution.
