Ethiopia is still struggling with distributing and sustaining electrical power throughout the cities. The latest news from the Ethiopian Electric Power (EEP) sounds even more angering. According to the corporation, there have been organized robberies in Addis Ababa that targeted electrical transformers. So far, nine transformers have been stolen in Yeka and Bole sub-cities by individuals claiming as maintenance workers from the corporation. The transformers cost between half a million birr (around $17,300) to two million birrs (around $69,200) with 25 years of expected performance.
