Toto Tours faces opposition in Ethiopia

Toto Tours, a travel company for the LGBT community, announced its plans for a 16 days visit to Ethiopia, one of the religious countries in the world. The company revealed its itinerary which includes Bahir Dar, home of multiple monasteries and center of Christianity, and Lalibela, known as Jerusalem of Ethiopia with 11 rock-hewn churches and a high place of Christianity still favored for pilgrimage and devotion. Following the announcement, Ethiopian Orthodox Church Associations and Inter-Religious Council of Ethiopia, which includes Christian and Islamic denominations, expressed their opposition and demanded the government to ban the tour.
