Ginbot 20 (May 28) has been a national holiday in Ethiopia commemorating EPRDF’s victory in overthrowing the Derg regime. The 28th anniversary of the national holiday was barely celebrated this year considering the big celebration held for April 2, 2019. Walelign Ayele, a reporter for Addis Zemen Newspaper, wrote an article comparing the two days in the history of Ethiopian politics and the possibility of EPRDF’s shift.
