Haile Gebreselassie builds schools in Wag Hemra Zone, northern Ethiopia. He took the initiative after watching a program on TV that showcased the dire situations the schools in the area are in. The report showed that the schools were built with tree branches, which does not shelter students from the sun, wind, and rain.
It is known that Haile, deemed by most as the greatest long-distance runner in history is also a leader in humanitarian relief – a United Nations Goodwill Ambassador – whose tireless efforts on behalf of the world body has shown no bounds.
