Office of the Prime Minister organized a discussion with 3,000 health professionals across Ethiopia. During the discussion, PM Abiy Ahmed focused on core points that function as input for policy-making in the health care sector. He emphasized that any concerns regarding the supply of resources should consider the economic situation the country is in.
PM Abiy also gave a highlight of the milestones the administration has achieved since coming to power in the sector. These include the development of housing units in health centers throughout, setting up establishments to enable medical tourism, changes in the procurement process of imported pharmaceuticals to expedite provision, allocating millions for medicines procurement, and establishing pharmaceutical industries through public-private partnership investments in Ethiopia.
