Emiliano Raúl Sala Taffarel, born 31 October 1990, is an Argentine professional footballer who plays as a forward and is contracted to Premier League side Cardiff City. On 22 January 2019, Sala was reported to be aboard an aircraft, which was flying from Nantes to Cardiff but had disappeared off the island of Alderney. A search party was carried out for three days covering an area of over 4,400 kilometers square across the English Channel before authorities had to call it off.
