During a working meeting with the Minister of Public Enterprises of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia Girma Amente, Mrs. Eddarhem underlined the particular interest that Morocco grants, under the enlightened leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, the strengthening south-south cooperation with “brotherly African countries” in general and the economic and trade partnership with Ethiopia in particular.

In terms of trade relations, the Secretary of State noted that trade between Morocco and Ethiopia is constantly increasing and amounted to nearly 758 million dirhams.
For his part, Mr. Amente recalled the holding in 2017 of the Business Forum Morocco-Ethiopia and the participation of Morocco in the 10th Trade Fair of Ethiopia and the last visit of HM King Mohammed VI to Ethiopia and reflects the bonds of friendship and the willingness and determination of the two countries to further strengthen their bilateral relations.
He also highlighted the signing of the agreement on the establishment of the integrated platform for fertilizer production in Ethiopia and the conclusion during this visit of an agreement between Tangier Med and the Ethiopian institutions to examine the means to enable the establishment of “industrial zones and dry ports”.
” It is our duty to identify practical projects and implement them very soon, ” added the Ethiopian Minister, highlighting promotional actions and the determination of Moroccan operators to explore existing opportunities in Ethiopia, and emphasizing the need to develop the flow of trade and the economic partnership between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia.
In addition, the Ethiopian delegation paid a visit on Monday to the Tangier-Med port complex to explore future areas of cooperation between the two states, mainly in the road and rail sectors.
