Background: Late October and early November 2026 brought successive civilian-harm reports that Ethiopian diaspora outlets framed as mourning: church and resident accounts of Arsi massacres, BBC Amharic resident accounts of up to 40 killed in Wollega's Tulu Gena, and a South Wollo displaced persons camp drone strike BBC Amharic said killed 18. The federal government has not issued a detailed public accounting matching those tallies; Oromia officials have blamed other armed groups for some Arsi violence. EMS's title is a mourning commentary aimed at what it says Abiy Ahmed's circle has done to Ethiopia; it does not name a single new incident in the title, so no additional casualty claim is invented here.
