Hair Loss Therapies?

I am 26 and I my hair has been thinning now for about 5 years due to the male pattern baldness that runs in my family. I saw in Boots the other day that there’s now some expensive treatments for baldness, but I was wondering are any of them effective or are they just a waste of money?
