Zemi Yenus, the founder of the first Ethiopian center for children with autism, has passed away while receiving treatment for COVID-19. A sad day for Ethiopia.

Nia Foundation is an indigenous, non-political, non-religious and non-profit making organization established in May 2002. In January 2006 the Nia Foundation got its legal recognition by the ministry of justice as a local humanitarian N60 and after wards the foundation was registered as per the new charities and societies proclamation number 621/2009 as Ethiopian Residents charity organization on November 2009. Nia Foundation-Joy center for children with Autism is a pioneer organization in East Africa commenced to persons with Autism and related disorder
