Members of Dawud Ibsa’s OLF faction kill 2 farmers in Oromia

Gunmen from the Dawud Ibsa faction of the Ogaden Liberation Front (OLF) have shot and killed two farmers in the Oromia region.

The incident, which was first reported by the VOA Amharic, happened on Monday in the Amaro district. Two farmers died while another is said to have sustained injuries and is currently hospitalized.

The Ethiopian Defense Force, which blamed members of the OLF for the shooting, is currently investigating the incident.

Dawud Ibsa, the Chairman of the OLF faction, has said he does not have any information about the fatal shooting.

The OLF recently agreed to give up its militant ways in favor of a more peaceful approach. According to the peace agreement between the OLF and Oromo traditional elders, OLF fighters are supposed to drop their weapons and enter into rehabilitation centers. […] CONTINUE READING
