Announced at the Blackberry Live 2013 event, <em>Blackberry CEO Thorsten Heins<\/em> confirmed &#8220;<em>the BB10 platform is so strong and the response has been so good that the time is right for BBM to become an independent mobile messaging platform<\/em>&#8220;. As a result, the mobile giant will make BBM as a cross-platform messaging app that will be available for Android (and iOS-based) devices.
