The company recently shipped <a href=\"http:\/\/bgr.com\/2013\/04\/24\/lg-smartphone-shipments-q1-2013-android-462725\/\">a record 10.3 million smartphones in the first quarter<\/a> and is expecting that number to increase throughout the year. Handsets such as the Optimus G, Nexus 4 and Optimus G Pro have <a href=\"http:\/\/bgr.com\/2013\/04\/02\/lg-optimus-g-pro-sales-410400\/\">won over consumers<\/a>, however LG believes it has the next big thing coming later this year. Yoon Bu-hyun, vice president of LG's mobile business, confirmed on the company's earnings call this week that it\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/bgr.com\/2013\/04\/10\/lg-flexible-display-release-date-428232\/\">plans to launch a smartphone with a flexible OLED display<\/a> before the end of 2013, <a href=\"http:\/\/online.wsj.com\/article\/SB10001424127887324474004578442161748613032.html\"><em>The Wall Street Journal<\/em> reported<\/a>. Although it is unlikely that the handset will be truly flexible due to limitations with other components, it will be the first consumer device to include a wraparound display.
