According to <a href=\"http:\/\/9to5google.com\/2013\/03\/31\/facebooks-forked-android-os-actually-called-facebook-home\"><em>9to5Google's<\/em> sources<\/a>, Facebook is calling its new Android initiative \"Facebook Home,\" which fits in well with <a href=\"http:\/\/bgr.com\/2013\/03\/29\/facebook-mobile-event-smartphone-rumor-403038\/\">the notice the company sent out last week<\/a> inviting people to \"come see our new home on Android.\" We still have no definitive word on precisely what this new \"home\" will entail, although <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.wsj.com\/digits\/2013\/03\/29\/facebook-preparing-more-visible-embrace-of-android\/\"><em>The Wall Street Journal<\/em> reported<\/a> last week that Facebook is planning \"new software for mobile devices powered by Google\u2019s Android operating system that displays content from users\u2019 Facebook accounts on a smartphone\u2019s home screen.\" Facebook's event is scheduled to take place this coming Thursday.<img src=\"http:\/\/feeds.feedburner.com\/~r\/TheBoyGeniusReport\/~4\/PTXUQwjH9P0\" height=\"1\" width=\"1\"\/>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It seems that Facebook (FB) has given a name to its new version of Android that will purportedly clog home screens with status updates.
