{"id":738409,"date":"2013-02-18T03:00:14","date_gmt":"2013-02-18T08:00:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/paidcontent.org\/?p=224820"},"modified":"2013-02-18T03:00:14","modified_gmt":"2013-02-18T08:00:14","slug":"best-of-the-streamys-4-shows-you-should-check-out","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mereja.com\/index\/738409","title":{"rendered":"Best of the Streamys: 4 shows you should check out"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Don&#8217;t call it <a href=\"http:\/\/gigaom.com\/2010\/04\/12\/the-streamy-awards-a-producers-apology-and-its-three-fails\/\">a comeback<\/a>, but the highly-anticipated <a href=\"http:\/\/www.streamys.org\/live\/\">Streamy Awards<\/a> returned on Sunday night for a third time, to honor the best that web video had to offer in the last year.<\/p> <p>&#8220;Web video is all about passion,&#8221; host Chris Hardwick said during his opening monologue, and there were so many shows, full of said passion, that were <a href=\"http:\/\/www.streamys.org\/nominees-winners\/3rd-annual-nominees\/\">either nominated or awarded on Sunday night<\/a>. Here are a few of them that deserve, if not statues, then definitely some consideration.<\/p> <h2 id=\"sourcefed\"><i><a href=\"http:\/\/youtube.com\/sourcefed\">SourceFed<\/a><\/i><\/h2> <span class='embed-youtube' style='text-align:center; display: block;'><iframe class='youtube-player' type='text\/html' width='604' height='370' src='http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/9PotowQ0Sdo?version=3&#038;rel=1&%23038;fs=1&%23038;showsearch=0&%23038;showinfo=1&%23038;iv_load_policy=1&%23038;wmode=transparent' frameborder='0'><\/iframe><\/span> <p>The winner in the Best News\/Informational Show category was long-standing YouTube star Philip DeFranco, but worth checking out is his fellow nominee <i>SourceFed<\/i> &#8212; and not just because DeFranco created it.<\/p> <p><i>SourceFed<\/i>, a lively news recap hosted by a revolving troupe of hosts, covers topics ranging from <i>Doctor Who<\/i> news to North Korea testing nukes. I was first exposed to the manic energy of the show&#8217;s hosts during last year&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/gigaom.com\/2012\/07\/01\/vidcon-2012-love-respect-and-double-rainbows\/\">VidCon conference<\/a>, and they are consistently entertaining.<\/p> <h2 id=\"lindsey-stirling\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/lindseystomp\/\">Lindsey Stirling<\/a><\/h2> <span class='embed-youtube' style='text-align:center; display: block;'><iframe class='youtube-player' type='text\/html' width='604' height='370' src='http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/0dfZ9BXaNyE?version=3&#038;rel=1&%23038;fs=1&%23038;showsearch=0&%23038;showinfo=1&%23038;iv_load_policy=1&%23038;wmode=transparent' frameborder='0'><\/iframe><\/span> <p>Lindsey Stirling, a one-time <i>America&#8217;s Got Talent<\/i> quarterfinalist, began making YouTube videos in 2007 that featured her dance and music skills.\u00a0She won a Streamy this year for Best Choreography. The above video, an homage to Michael Jackson&#8217;s &#8220;Thriller&#8221;, is a great example of why.<\/p> <h2 id=\"burning-love\"><a href=\"http:\/\/screen.yahoo.com\/burning-love\/\"><i>Burning Love<\/i><\/a><\/h2> <span class='embed-youtube' style='text-align:center; display: block;'><iframe class='youtube-player' type='text\/html' width='604' height='370' src='http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/KB6Y4uTOMEo?version=3&#038;rel=1&%23038;fs=1&%23038;showsearch=0&%23038;showinfo=1&%23038;iv_load_policy=1&%23038;wmode=transparent' frameborder='0'><\/iframe><\/span> <p><em>Burning Love<\/em> swept the awards dolled out for Best Comedy. It&#8217;s pretty funny, especially if you&#8217;ve ever seen a single episode of reality television. <a href=\"http:\/\/paidcontent.org\/2013\/01\/20\/2013-the-year-of-the-web-series-second-season\/\">A second season<\/a> just got started, so you&#8217;re not too late to check it out.<\/p> <h2 id=\"epic-rap-battles-of-history\"><i><a href=\"http:\/\/epicrapbattlesofhistory.com\/\">Epic Rap Battles of History<\/a><\/i><\/h2> <span class='embed-youtube' style='text-align:center; display: block;'><iframe class='youtube-player' type='text\/html' width='604' height='370' src='http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/njos57IJf-0?version=3&#038;rel=1&%23038;fs=1&%23038;showsearch=0&%23038;showinfo=1&%23038;iv_load_policy=1&%23038;wmode=transparent' frameborder='0'><\/iframe><\/span> <p><i>Epic Rap Battles of History<\/i> has been a comedy rap juggernaut since 2010; above is their Steve Jobs vs. Bill Gates rap, which they performed live during the Streamys.
