As a result, they are telling investors to brace for a pullback. <\/p>\n<p>However, stock market research firm Birinyi Associates has crunched some numbers that suggest otherwise. <\/p>\n<p>Since 1918, the Dow Jones Industrial Average has seen 20 periods where the index has risen 40% from the previous year. On average, from the beginning of each of these periods the market is higher 68% of the time one month, three months and six months later, Birinyi noted.
