{"id":720758,"date":"2010-04-21T01:16:10","date_gmt":"2010-04-21T05:16:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/perma-bull-mark-mobius-thinks-chinese-property-will-keep-skyrocketing-regardless-of-government-curbs-2010-4"},"modified":"2010-04-21T01:16:10","modified_gmt":"2010-04-21T05:16:10","slug":"mark-mobius-chinese-efforts-to-restrict-property-demand-are-doomed-to-be-ineffective","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mereja.com\/index\/720758","title":{"rendered":"Mark Mobius: Chinese Efforts To Restrict Property Demand Are Doomed To Be Ineffective"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"float_right\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/static.businessinsider.com\/image\/4b03de8a00000000001eb345-400-\/mark-mobius.jpg?w=400\" border=\"0\" alt=\"mark mobius\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>Despite stricter restrictions on mortgage lending recently enacted by the Chinese government, emerging markets perma-bull Mark Mobius thinks Chinese demand for housing will remain strong.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/apps\/news?pid=20601087&amp;sid=acBOXHVTf27E&amp;pos=6\">Bloomberg:<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&ldquo;We don&rsquo;t see fundamentals of the property industry will change much because of these new policies,&rdquo; Mobius, executive chairman at Templeton, said in response to questions sent by e- mail. &ldquo;We are in general still light on Chinese developers and if this correction brings valuations to more attractive levels, it would be a good opportunity for us to step up our positions.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&ldquo;Recent policy changes on property and mortgages were introduced with the purpose of curbing speculation, but not hurting real demand,&rdquo; Mobius said.<\/p>\n<p>This view stands in stark contrast to Goldman&#8217;s recent view that Chinese property prices could take it on the chin as a result of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/goldman-warns-of-chinese-property-bubble-pop-as-tightening-hits-2010-4\">new mortgage rules<\/a>. Yet we&#8217;d highlight that both Goldman and Mobius are recommending\/looking to buy Chinese property shares on any dips.
