{"id":712377,"date":"2010-04-08T13:53:37","date_gmt":"2010-04-08T17:53:37","guid":{"rendered":"tag:typepad.com,2003:post-6a00d8341c630a53ef0133ec8ccf02970b"},"modified":"2010-04-08T13:54:44","modified_gmt":"2010-04-08T17:54:44","slug":"5-3-aftershock-is-latest-from-mexicali-earthquake","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mereja.com\/index\/712377","title":{"rendered":"5.3 aftershock is latest from Mexicali earthquake"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Southern California was rocked by another strong aftershock from the Mexicali earthquake.<\/p>\n<p>The 5.3 earthquake struck about 32 miles south of Mexicali at about 9:44 a.m. It was one of hundreds of aftershocks that have occurred since Sunday&#8217;s temblor.<\/p>\n<p>The quake <a href=\"http:\/\/earthquake.usgs.gov\/earthquakes\/dyfi\/events\/ci\/10589037\/us\/index.html\">was felt in<\/a> Orange, San Diego and Los Angeles counties as well as the Inland Empire. No damage has been reported.<\/p>\n<p>Most of the aftershocks have been minor &#8212; in the 3 magnitude or less.<br \/>\nBut there have been a handful of aftershocks that registered more than 5.0, and<br \/>\ndozens in the 4 range, <a href=\"http:\/\/quake.usgs.gov\/recenteqs\/Quakes\/quakes.big.html\">according<br \/>\nto the U.S. Geological Survey.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The death toll from Sunday&#8217;s quake stands at two. More<br \/>\nthan 230 people were injured.
