Authorities continued to search Tuesday for witnesses to a Malibu crash in which a 26-year-old driver struck and killed a 13-year-old girl on Pacific Coast Highway. <\/p>\n
\nEmily Rose Shane had just left a friend\u2019s home about 5 p.m. Saturday and was walking north on the right side of Pacific Coast Highway near Kanan Dume Road when she was struck by a blue Mitsubishi Lancer, the Los Angeles County Sheriff\u2019s Department said. The vehicle then ran into an electric pole and turned over.<\/p>\n
\nSina Khankhanian of Winnetka was detained at the scene and later booked for murder at the Malibu-Lost Hills sheriff\u2019s station. Authorities determined that Khankhanian may have deliberately crashed his vehicle. They do not believe he intended to hit Emily Rose. <\/p>\n
Anyone who saw the vehicle before the crash or saw the collision is asked to call the Sheriff\u2019s Department homicide bureau at (323) 890-5500. <\/p>\n
