Neil Patrick Harris — who stars on the popular CBS sitcom How I Met Your Mother<\/em> and even hosted the Tonys — will star in Sony’s buzzworthy big screen adaptation of The Smurfs<\/em>, Deadline Hollywood<\/a> dished on Wednesday. The Smurfs<\/em>aired as part of NBC’s Saturday Morning lineup for nine years before it was cancelled in 1990. The film version of the ’80s animated classic will come to life through a mix of live-action and cutting edge CGI-animation. NPH has landed the lead live-action role. <\/p>\n We can’t wait!
